Therapy for adults and couples.
About
I am a licensed clinical psychologist working with adults in individual and couples therapy. I received my doctorate in clinical psychology (PsyD) from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA. I completed my predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Access Institute for Psychological Services, where I now also supervise current trainees. I have over a decade of experience providing psychotherapy, including both longer-term work as well as treating more immediate issues of concern.
My Approach
I aim to create a space where you feel safe enough to explore whatever pain or experiences you need help with. My style is warm, collaborative, interactive, and compassionate. I use an individualized approach and tailor my interventions to your unique and specific needs. I also focus on creating a strong therapeutic relationship in which each person I work with feels recognized and understood.
I combine practical support with a depth-oriented approach. I draw from a psychological framework that looks at the influence of past relationships, environments, and cultural contexts on current ways of living and connecting to others. This type of therapy provides not only symptom relief, but also a way to identify and shift long-standing patterns and behaviors that have gotten in the way. Together we will understand what your experiences and relationships mean to you, with the goal of creating more freedom to live a life that is full, satisfying, and connected.
Pregnancy and Postpartum Support
Parenthood is an experience filled with complicated and challenging emotions. The journey to become a parent is often less straightforward than expected and can cause unanticipated distress. Once your baby arrives, the unique stressors of life with an infant combined with changing hormones and physiology all contribute to feelings of worry, anxiety, and depression. I am a certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. I also have specialized training in perinatal mental health through the Postpartum Stress Center and have experience treating prenatal and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, including postpartum depression. I am passionate about supporting parents through this special yet complex time.
